Responsibilities
Architect "golden paths" You will build and maintain the core shared libraries, SDKs, and code-generation tools (gRPC, OpenAPI) that power our entire engineering organization. Our goal is to abstract away complexity so product teams can ship features faster and safer
Design and optimize cloud infrastructure You will take ownership of our AWS ecosystem (ECS, RDS, MSK, etc.). You will design capable architectures on a whiteboard and are comfortable getting your hands dirty debugging production performance, tuning database parameters, and automating toil
Treat the platform as the product You will embed with product teams to understand their friction points, treating them as your customers. You will champion a philosophy where we build tools that are intuitive and helpful
Elevate observability You will set the standard for how we observe and debug our systems. This involves going deep into the stack to debug distributed system failures, improving our alerting strategy to reduce noise, and teaching the wider engineering team how to troubleshoot effectively
Be a mentor and technical leader You will also drive technical standards across the company by documenting patterns, writing clear guides, presenting to all engineers, and mentoring engineers on best practices
