Responsibilities
Validate performance data generated from LTE and 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN) across different vendor ecosystems such as Nokia and Ericsson
Ensure timely generation and correctness of file feed extracts from upstream systems, employing programming techniques such as Python with Kafka and Unix shell scripting for streaming or batch processing
Proactively identify and remediate issues causing delayed arrival of files or broken downstream processing
Utilize knowledge of RF engineering terminology and the standard operating environment to troubleshoot and address user queries related to specific file feed inputs
Serve as a first responder for issues with servers running databases such as Druid, Oracle Exadata, etc. to minimize environment challenges
Leverage PL/SQL skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with Oracle and MySQL database functions and scripts invoked by the 138 in-scope operations support systems
Apply expertise in the service assurance domain within the RAN and leverage Python programming skills to support system reliability engineering of mission-critical applications
Telecommuting and working from home permitted from anywhere in the U.S. Travel and relocation possible to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S
Domestic travel required approximately 10% of the time to various client sites
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in the related occupations of Software Developer, Senior Software Engineer or equivalent, working with Radio Access Network (RAN) performance data, including validating data from LTE and 5G networks across vendor ecosystems such as Nokia and Ericsson
3 years of experience in programming using Python and Kafka for streaming or batch processing data feeds
3 years of experience writing Unix shell scripts to automate tasks and process data
3 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with servers running databases such as Druid and Oracle Exadata
3 years of experience in writing and debugging PL/SQL queries and scripts for Oracle and MySQL databases
3 years of experience investigating and resolving complex technical issues in a telecom service assurance environment
3 years of experience in supporting system reliability engineering for mission-critical applications in a wireless carrier environment
3 years of experience communicating technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including providing clear project updates to senior leadership and Working on cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions
