The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Justice and Public Safety Cabinet is seeking a qualified Paralegal to provide essential support to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. The role involves drafting legal documents, managing case preparation, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files.

Responsibilities
Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, exhibits and subpoenas
Assist in the management of all phases of case preparation for police officer decertification cases, including maintaining file organization, contacting witnesses, exhibit preparation for administrative hearings
Conduct legal research and assist with preparation for quarterly KLEC meetings
Maintain case files and schedule court reporters
Assist with responses to open records requests
Research and analyze legal cases
Qualification
Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in paralegal science or a bachelor's degree with a minor in paralegal studies OR two-year program in paralegal studies OR post-baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies
Four years of experience as a paralegal or legal secretary
A Juris Doctorate or a law degree from a college of law will substitute for the education and experience requirement
Experience as a paralegal or legal secretary will substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred
A keen eye for detail and meticulous work habits
Proven ability to complete complex assignments independently
A strong ability to multitask
Experience with administrative law process
