Responsibilities
Characterize the performance of Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) hardware in the lab as it compares to simulation
Perform experiments to determine the root cause of PMIC behavior
Utilize knowledge of varied test and measurement equipment such as automated test hardware and software using MATLAB or Python, DC/DC power converter topologies such as Buck/Boost/Buck-Boost/Charge pumps and common chip-to-chip protocols such as MIPI, SPI, I2C, and PMBUS
Work with lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, SMUs, electronic loads, and network/impedance analyzers
Execute PMIC silicon validation (lab testing) plan
Troubleshoot and debug power management questions with designer input, summarize and organize data
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering or related field
2 years experience with DC/DC power converter topologies
common chip-to-chip communication protocols
schematic design and layout using Altium
Development of tests using MATLAB or Python
May qualify with Master's degree Electrical Engineering or related field with coursework that must include Power Management ICs, Power ICs, or Power Modules
