The role involves writing optimized SQL queries, managing large datasets, ensuring database performance, reliability, and security, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
Write efficient, optimized, and scalable SQL queries to support business intelligence, reporting, and application development
Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and availability
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to design database solutions that meet project requirements
Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources
Manage database backups, recovery, and security protocols
Support data migration, transformation, and validation activities
Document database structures, standards, and procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
25 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer or Database Engineer
Strong proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Experience in query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning
Familiarity with ETL tools (SSIS, Talend, or Informatica)
Experience with data modeling and normalization techniques
Knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or Google Cloud SQL
Understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation
