Associate Director of Development
Butler University is a private, nationally recognized comprehensive university, and they are seeking an Associate Director of Development to engage the university community and maximize philanthropy. The role involves raising major and planned gifts for approved fundraising priorities and serving as the lead development officer for the College of Education and Human Development.

Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned giving prospects
Maximize major gift fundraising in support of approved University fundraising priorities, including Butler Fund for Student Scholarship
Be the Advancement Division’s liaison (i.e., advocate for and primary source of information) for the College of Education and Human Development
Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the COEHD Dean and the Advancement Division
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
1-2 years of professional experience with demonstrated record of relationship management and solicitation/sales closure
Understanding of philanthropy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superior customer-service skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desire to collaborate in a team-based environment where critical thinking and problem-solving skills are vital
Ability to be discreet when working with confidential/sensitive data
Strong organizational, project-management, and time management skills
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc
Willingness/ability to work select evenings and weekends as necessary
Preferred
1-2 years of experience in higher education; education/experience equivalents considered
Familiarity with elementary, secondary, and higher education fields including disciplines studied in the College of Education and Human Development
Familiarity with Advancement/fundraising databases
Desire to work at Butler University
