Accounting Manager
Inside Higher Ed is collaborating with Another Source for the recruitment of an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing Treasury and General Accounting at UCR, developing financial models, and overseeing various accounting responsibilities while providing direction to staff and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities
Develop financial models, strategies and recommendations to inform executive level decision making
Support campus-wide integrated strategic planning processes to maximize income on cash balances and long-term working capital
Determine the feasibility of funding capital projects and initiatives that are consistent with liquidity, cash flow, and risk budget requirements
Oversee capitalization, depreciation, unrelated business income tax reporting, sales/use tax reporting/audits, NCAA audit, journal generation, month-end and fiscal year-end closing, non-payroll cost transfers, inter-campus transfers, and campus recharges
Provide direction to 5 staff positions performing the highest level of accounting activities
Develop Accounting Office and campus-wide policies and procedures, including internal control systems and complex accounting solutions in recording UCR's financial activity applying NACUBO and GASB fund accounting principles
Interact extensively with the campus community and external auditors
Participate in the Accounting Office management team in planning future activities and incorporating the latest technology available to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the office
Qualification
Required
Current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position
Experience in Treasury management including developing financial models, strategies, and recommendations
Experience in General Accounting including capitalization, depreciation, unrelated business income tax reporting, sales/use tax reporting/audits, NCAA audit, journal generation, month-end and fiscal year-end closing, non-payroll cost transfers, inter-campus transfers, and campus recharges
Ability to provide direction to 5 staff positions performing high-level accounting activities
Experience in developing Accounting Office and campus-wide policies and procedures, including internal control systems and complex accounting solutions
Knowledge of NACUBO and GASB fund accounting principles
Ability to interact extensively with the campus community and external auditors
Participation in the Accounting Office management team in planning future activities
Incorporation of the latest technology available to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the office
