Responsibilities
Lead multiple projects and/or programs across the full delivery lifecycle, from initiation through implementation and stabilization
Apply stage-gate governance to ensure readiness reviews, approvals, and quality checks are completed before advancing to subsequent phases
Manage complex, cross-functional delivery teams supporting Medicaid systems, enhancements, and regulatory initiatives
Partner directly with state clients and internal business leaders to plan, prioritize, and deliver system changes
Coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams, vendors, and functional teams
Provide project leadership by assigning resources, mentoring team members, and serving as an escalation point
Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across assigned initiatives
Monitor delivery performance against contractual commitments, SLAs, and regulatory timelines
Support capacity planning and workload balancing across projects, defects, and ongoing system support
Collaborate with peer project managers to align resources and delivery priorities across the program
Escalate delivery, resourcing, or system risks to leadership with clear recommendations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of project and/or program management experience, including leadership of complex initiatives
Experience managing projects using Waterfall methodology with stage-gated delivery checkpoints (required); Agile or hybrid experience preferred
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a client-facing environment
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders simultaneously
Experience working within client/vendor delivery models
Proficiency with Microsoft Project; MS Project Online (MSPO) experience preferred
Preferred
Experience delivering Medicaid, MMIS, or other public-sector healthcare systems
Experience working with state agencies and navigating regulatory-driven delivery
Background supporting large, multi-year programs with multiple workstreams
PMP or similar project management certification preferred
