Responsibilities
Supervise the activities of assigned employees
On site directions and/or assignments to crew while also performing the same, similar or related duties as those assigned to the crew
Cuts thick grass or weeds and resurfaces; repairs streets, remove waste from refuse trucks and oversees systematic collection of refuse, etc
Operates grading machines, driving/operating street sweeping and flushing machines, operating tractors, drives and operated packer-type, flat bed truck, truck with trailer or other assigned vehicles
Uses weed eaters, lawn mowers, etc
Inspects operation of machinery and equipment and trains new employees
Initiate requests for supplies
Submit work and time reports, and maintains related records
Crew Leader trains and orients new workers
Insures safety procedures are followed to get the job done
May recommend personnel actions
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Three (3) years experience in the following areas: Streets and Drainage Division- Street maintenance groundskeepers, refuse collection, driver-operator, light and heavy equipment and servicing equipment
Hold a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A)
Applicant must be able to operate the following equipment proficiency: Knuckle boom, Chainsaw, Boom Truck, and Stump Grinder
Holds a current valid Driver's License
Position requires moderate to extensive stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Job must be performed with or without accommodations
Work is performed outdoors with exposure to noise, chemicals, inclement weather, dirt, grease, dust, and machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices
