Responsibilities
Lead the design and release of interior accessory components from concept through production
Partner with brand planning and strategy teams to develop new feature ideas
Conduct feasibility studies with Interior Product teams, Vehicle Integration, and Product Design Office
Create Source Package documents and support purchasing teams in reviewing technical submissions from suppliers
Manage vehicle test and validation activities based on component and vehicle DVP plans
Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and internal teams
Track and manage timing for suspension kits and other accessory components to ensure on-time launch
Oversee releasing and changes of vehicle interior systems and body components
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering or interior accessory development
Strong understanding of part design process, manufacturing process, and material selection
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree required
Preferred
Knowledge of plastic injection molded parts – design, manufacturing, and material selection
Experience with soft trim cut-and-sew materials and processes
Familiarity with Mopar processes and supplier development activities
