KU Libraries Office of the Dean Administrative Intern

The Center for Public Partnerships & Research is seeking an Administrative Intern for the KU Libraries' Office of the Dean. The role involves providing clerical and project support, collaborating with various library stakeholders, and managing the Dean and Leadership team's calendar and communications.

Responsibilities

Dean and Leadership team's calendar/time management, travel planning, handling and tracking of important documents with discretion, data entry, mass mailings support, Outlook room management, physical space oversight, and cleaning
The position will work at and provide coverage for the 502-suite reception desk, greeting visitors, answering and routing guest inquiries (phone and email)
The position will collaborate with various stakeholders of the suite and can expect to engage in changing and exciting projects that benefit KU and the Libraries

Required

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. with or without accommodation

Preferred

Experience communicating via phone, email, and in-person
Experience with Microsoft Suite Products
Detail oriented and highly organized as evidenced by application materials
Customer service or hospitality focused job experience
Clerical, administrative, or office experience
Experience requiring creative thinking, problem solving, and a strong initiative
Experience demonstrating responsibility with confidential information
