Interior Designer

Lone Star Furnishings is a Texas-based family-owned company specializing in turnkey furniture solutions for the education and commercial markets. The Interior Designer position focuses on K-12 education projects and requires the creation of high-quality rendering packages to support the sales team while ensuring adherence to project guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

Specify and space plan various furniture solutions through collaboration with co-workers in accordance with project guidelines
Create rendering packages and various presentation tools for the sales team in alignment with Lone Star Furnishings standards
Participate in client meetings with the sales team to support the revision and selection process, including finishes and specifications
Confirm accuracy of project specifications and ensure integration of Life Safety and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) code requirements
Assist in maintaining the finish library and showroom, ensuring cleanliness, accuracy, and sourcing of finishes
Maintain current knowledge of trends within design and the K-12 industry, including attendance at continuing education courses and required training

Required

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. (Completed or in Progress)
A portfolio demonstrating design work, strong communication, and organizational skills
Experience using CAD software for renderings (Revit, SketchUp, or similar). CET Configura knowledge is preferred
Willingness to learn new design software and industry products
Specification, space planning, and systems furniture knowledge. (Previous K-12 design experience is desirable but not required)
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently on design projects with minimal assistance
Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple ongoing projects and revisions
Occasional travel required; mileage will be reimbursed

Preferred

CET Configura knowledge is preferred
Previous K-12 design experience is desirable but not required
