Responsibilities
Negotiate, draft, and execute agreements and contracts
Advise on contract status, legal risks, and liabilities associated with corporate transactions
Manage client & vendor contracts, including dissemination to relevant departments
Review and analyze insurance coverage forms, endorsements, and filings to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Coordinate and manage third-party relationships such as external counsel, auditors, and regulators
Stay current with evolving insurance and corporate legislation, rules, and regulatory requirements
Partner with senior leadership and other departments—including Underwriting, Compliance, and Operations—on cross-functional initiatives
Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance topics
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
Active law license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar
5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally within a Property & Casualty carrier, MGA, or law firm with an insurance regulatory focus
Leadership and management skills
Strong understanding of insurance company operations, contracts, policy forms, and state filing processes
Proactive mindset required
Commitment to providing quality legal advice, learning agility (included demonstrated willingness to develop expertise in new subject matters), and a history of enthusiastic participation in a team environment
