Punchbowl News is a news content company focused on power, people, and politics in Washington. They are looking for two Business Development Associates to support the growth of subscription-based revenue streams, primarily through opportunity generation and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

Analyze and research potential customers to uncover insights that drive effective and personalized outreach

Build relationships with prospective customers through inbound responses and proactive outbound efforts, including cold calls and emails

Secure meetings with key decision-makers by delivering tailored, compelling messaging across multiple channels

Support Subscription Sales Team in providing an exceptional end-to-end customer experience during evaluations

Accurately document all customer interactions in HubSpot in a timely manner and keep internal stakeholders informed of relevant updates and progress

Collaborate with the Marketing, Events, and Product teams as necessary to support broader company initiatives and ensure a seamless customer experience

Required

1-2 years of relevant professional experience

Proven experience in an outbound sales associate role

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders

Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities

Preferred

Prior experience in news media or information subscription services is highly desirable

A strong interest in news, politics, or public policy is a major plus — empathy for users and curiosity about the inner workings of Washington are essential
