Responsibilities

Use experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems
Apply expertise in routing and switching, troubleshooting, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies
Optimize client operations and modernization using knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects using experience in key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding, tactical networks, and SolarWinds
Make an impact on national security missions using technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards

Required

5+ years of experience in a large-scale enterprise network environment
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
Experience developing and maintaining network documentation, including topologies, configurations, procedures, and runbooks
Knowledge of TCP or IP stack, routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, or EIGRP, and switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, or port-channeling
Ability to manage and optimize network monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues
Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex network performance, connectivity, and security issues across LAN or WAN
TS/SCI clearance
HS diploma or GED
Ability to obtain a Vendor Certification such as CCNA, CCNP Routing and Switching or Enterprise, Junos Certification (JNCIA), or JNCIP Certification, within 30 days of hire date
Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 60 days of hire date

Preferred

Experience in network automation using scripting languages such as Python, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform
Experience mentoring junior team members and participating in cross-functional project teams
Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts and tools such as Cisco ACI or SD-WAN
Experience with network security best practices and technologies, including Next-Generation Firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or Juniper SRX and VPN solutions
Ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to pay strict attention to detail
Possession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
