Responsibilities

Register and check all patients in and out of the Clinic. New patient thorough work-up, new patient packet explanation; take patient vitals, blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc, as needed
Answer any questions the patient may have. Inform physician of abnormal results as needed; Enter intake process e.g. smoking, PHQ2, medication reconciliation, etc. Records history and chief complaint
Accurate and complete room set-up for each patient; ensure exam room is clean with clean linen, testing equipment, etc.; Clean and sterilize any equipment as needed; Ensure the medical record is available for physician prior to patient appointment and testing procedure; Ensure proper hand off of responsibilities once the task is completed
Perform phlebotomy, collection of other lab specimens, perform basic lab tests and responsible for processing labs. Assist providers with paperwork and Assist with MA message pools
Assist Nurses with responding to patient inquiries. Assure that all information is accurate. Refer to the Director or Nurse as needed
Responsible for greeting all patients, confirming appointments, rescheduling appointments, authorizations, and insurance information
Coordinate with other clinics as needed. Make sure the office is open in the morning and closed in the afternoon, along with opening and closing protocols
Administer vaccines; Assist physicians with exams
Perform EKG; use CPR skills when necessary; Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol
Manage Inventory, restock phlebotomy area, and restock exam rooms. Calls vendors to place medical supply orders weekly
Meets established attendance criteria and starts work promptly
Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts
Respects and acknowledges the organization's commitment to cultural diversity, which is expressed through behavior, language, and actions; always maintains a professional appearance
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, providers, staff, and management
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Required

High school graduation or equivalent
Possession of a current/valid certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by an approved certifying board as defined by the employing institution. The approved certifying boards include; American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCTI) and/or National Health career Association (NHA)
Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification
