Responsibilities
Create accurate and detailed electrical schematics & layout drawings, using AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault
Produce simple to complex schematics and drawings in accordance with company standards from data, sketches, or verbal communication
Create bills of material (BOMs) on ERP system
Responsible for creation and maintenance of design drawings, ensuring conformance to company and industry standards
Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Vault software to ensure consistency and compliance with company and industry standards
Maintain proficiency in the latest software updates and features to enhance drafting capabilities
Work closely with electrical design engineers, automation specialists and production support technicians
Perform point to point inspections on units in production
Provide resource assistance to production team as needed
Participate in weekly engineering meetings and provide status updates on current projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and mechanical components seamlessly
Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
Maintain project status using drafting log
Organize and maintain accurate records of drawings and design files using Autodesk Vault
Ensure life cycle control and manage document revisions as needed
Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements
Perform drawing peer reviews
Address and resolve discrepancies or issues identified during reviews
Actively seek opportunities to improve drafting processes and workflows
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to enhance drafting techniques
Qualification
Required
Associate degree or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault software, latest versions
Experience with Autodesk Vault for document management
Solid understanding of electrical design and application principles
Working knowledge of industry drafting and design standards
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and manage work schedule and multiple tasks
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office software tools: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Knowledge of and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of Autodesk Vault as well as proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Electrical
Other programs that are helpful to know are Frame Generator as well as I-logic
Preferred
Previous experience in drafting for automation and industrial control projects
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
Knowledge of electrical and fluid power systems and schematics
