Lean Intern
Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a Summer 2026 Lean Intern to support the Continuous Improvement function. The intern will assist with identifying and executing Lean initiatives, conduct data collection, and help create a Daily Management dashboard to enhance performance visibility.

Responsibilities
Support the Continuous Improvement function by assisting with the identification, prioritization, and execution of high-level Lean initiatives within a defined process area
Partnering with the process owner to understand current performance
Conducting basic data collection and observations to identify waste and improvement opportunities
Supporting structured problem solving and documentation of key processes
Helping coordinate low-risk pilots that improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
Help create a Daily Management dashboard that enables consistent day-to-day performance visibility by aligning key metrics to team goals
Defining metric definitions and data sources
Establishing a simple cadence for daily review and escalation
Preparing an initial visual format (digital or board-based) that can be maintained by the process owner after handoff
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Candidates must have at a minimum classroom experience with Power BI and AutoCAD
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Willing and able to work on-site at our Clearwater, FL location
Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter's government contracts
