Manager - Strategic Program Development

Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. is dedicated to empowering community members through education and job training programs. The Manager - Strategic Program Development will collaborate with the Vice President of Workforce Development to engage in strategic planning and implementation to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

Works with the Vice President and/or independently to identify, establish, and implement strategic priorities
Develops, as instructed, implementation roadmaps, including timelines, milestones, and metrics by which to measure success and impact, in furtherance of department goals and objectives relative to workforce development programming
Partners with the Vice President to plan, launch, and monitor the development of expanded or new workforce development programs, projects, or initiatives
Facilitates internal brainstorming and program planning relative to workforce development programming
Leads intra-department working groups and projects as assigned
Work closely with, and function as an internal consultant to, Department program teams to establish or clarify program objectives
Supports the Vice President in the development of staffing models to enable the attainment of department and/or program goals and objectives
Assists in the development of methods to communicate processes, goals, and status of programs and projects with diverse audiences, both internal and external
Engages with partners and potential partners, as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years of planning and/or program management experience is required
Excellent prioritization and facilitation skills with a clear focus on results
Ability to lead, manage, and consult with cross-functional teams working on operational and strategic initiatives
Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required
Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds

Preferred

Advance degree in social services or management is preferred
