The Medicaid Data Management Team Lead will perform complex data analysis, database management, and application development to support the Medicaid & CHIP Services program, enhancing contract management and optimizing health outcomes.

Responsibilities

Consults and coordinates with MCDA, DAP and MCS staff in order to identify potential areas for increased efficiencies through the use of automation. Designs, develops, codes, tests, implements and maintains and documents computer applications to implement those efficiencies. (40%)

Consults and coordinates with MCDA, DAP and MCS staff in order to identify business needs related to Medicaid, CHIP and reference data in various HHS and other systems and transform research and reporting requirements into DA/DAP data systems. Acquires, extracts, cleans, transforms and loads needed datasets into DA/DAP database systems. Mentors DA staff in the use of data systems. (40%)

Prepares and reviews a variety of written, oral, and graphical deliverables containing analyses of MCS and other relevant data. (15%)

May supervise and direct the work of others. (5%)

Required

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis

Experience in writing SQL or PL/SQL code

Experience in using Excel

Experience in using selected software such as Snowflake, Oracle SQL Developer, Cognos, Tableau, Oracle Reports, ArcGIS, Python or Business Intelligence tools

Experience in data extraction and report layout and design

Experience in writing executive level reports – including white papers, graphical representation of data, synthesizing the data, interpretation of the data
