Event Sourcing Manager

Responsibilities

Conduct research on destinations, venues, activities, and related program elements to support proposal development
Manage hotel sourcing platforms, primarily Cvent, including building, issuing and managing RFP’s
Analyze hotel and venue proposals to identify the most suitable choices for each event
Develop visually compelling, client-facing presentations from hotel grids; present recommendations to clients and incorporate feedback to determine best options
Negotiate and confirm critical program components with suppliers, securing cost savings in alignment with client and company objectives
Manage and execute all client and third-party supplier agreements, ensuring program-specific and legal terms and conditions are accurate and protective of client and A-Plus; proofread and cross-check all documents for accuracy
Maintain accurate client and program records within Zoho CRM
Plan and coordinate pre-contract hotel site inspections, including schedules and agendas
Stay current on industry trends, proactively identifying new destinations, hotel openings, and ideas; serve as a subject matter expert on hotels and destinations by sharing insights with clients and internal teams
Support the training of new hires in sourcing and contracting processes and help maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across all programs
Represent A-Plus at industry events including IMEX US

Required

A minimum of seven years of experience in hotel or event sourcing or procurement, with strong knowledge of travel supplier operations, capabilities, and service offerings
Demonstrated success in negotiating hotel rates, terms, conditions and value-added amenities and proven cost-savings results on behalf of clients
In-depth knowledge of U.S. hotels and destinations; international experience is a plus
Strong understanding of hotel contract terms and conditions
History of maintaining strategic, long-term partnerships with hotel chains, independent properties, and global hotel groups
Proven success in building and maintaining key client relationships
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Proven aptitude for technology and software solutions, with strong analytical capabilities
A team-oriented, positive attitude with a collaborative mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage suppliers, clients, internal teams, and leadership; fluency in English required, additional languages a plus
Experience sourcing within the Cvent platform required
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Event Management or a related field
Ability to travel as needed, typically less than 10% annually
