Accountant II
Granite Construction is a leading heavy civil contractor and construction materials producer. They are seeking an Accountant II to provide professional accounting support, maintain accounting records, and ensure compliance with GAAP while assisting in strategic decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accounting records that validate the accuracy of accounting information and ensure compliance with GAAP
Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly close process
Examine, analyze and interpret accounting records to support strategic decision making
Participate in cross training efforts for developmental purposes and departmental coverage
Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Perform special projects and additional assignments as directed that support the General Accounting function
Participate in the review of the monthly financial package to ensure the accuracy of financial information and to assist in strategic decision making
Respond to inquiries made by upper management related to financial package to support strategic decision making
Review of various accounting reports to ensure the accuracy and clarity of information presented
Qualification
Required
Advanced computer spreadsheet skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
Analytical skills
Self-motivated team player
Attention to detail and accuracy
Deadline driven
Customer service focused
Preferred
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting
3-5 Years Accounting experience preferred
