The Judge Group is seeking an experienced Fire & Life Safety Engineer to support critical fire protection and life safety operations across a large commercial facility. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving fire alarm, suppression, and life safety systems, while ensuring compliance with fire codes and supporting system upgrades.

Responsibilities

Diagnose & repair alarms, smoke/heat detectors, pull stations, devices, relays, and related controls
Maintain fire alarm panels (including Edwards systems ), NAC panels, amplifiers & backup power systems
Service wet, dry & pre-action sprinkler systems
Support kitchen hood suppression systems
Inspect & repair valves, flow switches, piping, and electric/diesel fire pumps
Ensure adherence to state, local & federal fire/life safety codes
Maintain accurate records and PM schedules in the CMMS
Support the annual JLL Client Assurance Program and other compliance audits
Inspect, deploy & maintain portable fire extinguishers
Assess egress requirements and maintain emergency lighting systems
Utilize BAS to track environment conditions & equipment performance
Support occasional facility emergencies (plumbing, electrical, roofing, carpentry)
Assist and mentor junior technicians

Qualification

Required

2–4 years of experience in commercial fire/life safety system maintenance
Experience reading technical manuals, schematics & blueprints
Knowledge of fire codes, standards & best practices
Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and respond to after‑hours emergencies when needed

Preferred

NICET Certification
NFPA Certifications
Experience with Edwards fire alarm systems
