Economic Competitiveness Intern
Virginia Economic Development Partnership is seeking an Economic Competitiveness Intern for the summer of 2026. The role involves researching policies, analyzing data, and assisting in report development to enhance Virginia’s economic competitiveness.

Responsibilities
Research policies and evaluate their potential benefit to Virginia’s economic competitiveness by reading, summarizing, and synthesizing relevant literature
Analyze quantitative data and present data analysis in a visually compelling format
Assist in designing and developing reports for economic development stakeholders
Engage with executive staff and key stakeholders on relevant research, including presenting research or updates on key projects
Assist in other project-related tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Interest in economics, business, public policy, or state government
Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective time management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Basic to advanced data analysis experience with Excel
Preferred
Pursuit of a bachelor's or graduate degree in social science (economics, public policy, or political science), mathematics, data analytics, business, or related field
