Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in welding processes, including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW
Prepare course materials, lesson plans, and lab demonstrations aligned with program objectives and safety standards
Provide hands-on instruction and supervision in a lab/shop setting
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress
Support students in achieving certification benchmarks, including AWS-related standards
Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized lab/shop environment
Participate in meetings, trainings, and curriculum development activities as required
Perform other instructional or administrative duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on industry experience in welding or metal fabrication required
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
Commitment to student success and experiential, hands-on learning
Preferred
Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field preferred, or documented journey-level status with significant industry experience
Teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred (instructor certification a plus)
AWS Certification strongly preferred or ability to obtain within one year of hire
