Data Architect C - Advanced
Compu-Vision Consulting Inc. is seeking a Data Architect C - Advanced to modernize core enterprise data systems. The successful candidate will design and implement a data integration framework to support enterprise data, ensuring compatibility with cloud architecture and enhancing data quality.

Responsibilities
Review existing systems to identify any data silos, schema inconsistencies and governance gaps
Engage stakeholders to gather and document their integration needs
Analyze and verify existing data models to assess impacts related to implementation of a modern data model
Evaluate the existing data models for dependencies and assess the scope of necessary changes
Conduct impact analysis on reporting and application usage of data models to ensure business outcomes are not disrupted
Define the enterprise data architecture strategy, including canonical models, application programming interfaces (APIs), and ontologies
Map integration points across AZURE, Snowflake, Informatica, and PostgreSQL
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for key domains (e.g. financial, roadway characteristic, and work program administration)
Provide a comprehensive re-design of data models for various enterprise domains
Ensure that the redesigned canonical data models are scalable, robust, and aligned with best practices in data management, supporting both current and future business needs
Ensure spatial data integration with GIS systems
Implement established governance structure, meta data standards, and stewardship roles
Design and implement data quality measures to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of production data on a scheduled basis, including nightly, hourly, or less frequent intervals as needed
Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline ETL processes to support efficient data flow and integration
Create metadata standards, lineage tracking, and stewardship roles that compliment existing roles defined in Informatica and Snowflake
Build ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time streaming solutions with a unified structure for ingestion and exchange for enterprise datasets
Ensure consistent identifiers enterprise Application
Enable data exchange across internal systems and with external systems
Implement Orchestration using Informatica/AZURE Data Factory or Snowflake
Design RESTful endpoints for spatial and engineering data
Collaborate with Transportation Technology leaders to develop tactical strategies for the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise data integration initiatives
Provide guidance on high-level design choices and technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms
Act as an internal consultant, mentor, and advocate to team members, support ongoing improvements, and change management initiatives across the Department's computing assets
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Work experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the degree
A minimum of 7 years of experience with large and complex database management systems
A minimum of 7 years of experience as a data architect or senior data analyst, with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data models and ETL processes
10+ years of broad experience working with database management systems (such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2) and data integration tools
Strong background in financial data systems, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality management
Proven experience with ETL tools, data warehousing, and automation of data processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data
Experience in data visualization and reporting best practices, with familiarity with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Familiarity with cloud-based data integration solutions, such as Azure or Snowflake
Have the ability to clearly convey information, in both written and verbal formats, to individuals or groups in a wide variety of settings (i.e.; project team meetings, management presentations, etc.). Must have the ability to effectively listen and process information provided by others
Works well with clients and customers (i.e.; business office, public, or other agencies). Able to assess the needs of the customer, provide information or assistance to satisfy expectations or resolve a problem
Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions
Is open to change, new processes (or process improvement), and new information. Has the ability to adapt in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Ability to receive and give constructive criticism, and maintain effective work relationships with others

Preferred
Experience with DB2 systems
Experience with Informatica or other modern data integration platforms
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
