HR Specialist II
The University of Missouri-Columbia is dedicated to providing leadership in human resource services and programs. The HR Specialist II position supports daily HR transactional processing and ensures compliance with benefit and retirement documentation for a large employee base.

Responsibilities
Responsible for imaging and record retention for benefit and retirement related documents
Primary user of Perceptive Content imaging system to ensure documents received from all HR teams are correctly identified, linked, and routed to workflows and employee files in a timely manner
Request and review Proof of Relationship documents for compliance with medical and retiree Summary Plan Descriptions
Run weekly queries to compare to master spreadsheet
Complete reach out and all follow up to adhere to 31-day deadline
Process dependent removal if necessary
Completing Tier 1 process for answering unemployment claim requests through online portal and initiating communication with departments
Responsible for administration of multiple transactional tasks, ensuring accurate processing in a timely manner and attention to detail
The ability to research policies and utilize available resources for information to complete data verification is essential
Create and mail letters weekly to employees on Leave of Absence regarding insurance billing
Create and mail monthly letters to employees/retirees regarding dependents aging out of benefit eligibility and initiating COBRA communication mailing
Monitor and reply to incoming email inquiries in shared resource account inbox via Microsoft Outlook
Organize and document incoming Power of Attorney requests
Correspond with Office of General Counsel to resolve outstanding questions, requests or forms associated with the POA
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri
Qualification
Required
An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
