Responsibilities
Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, area classification, and grounding
Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors, terminations, etc
Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work
Troubleshoot and commission medium voltage electrical equipment
Collaborate with a design team of engineers and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer
Experience with electrical area classification
Programming experience in any of these areas: Reclosers, Protective relays and/or PLC's
Field experience with medium voltage (2.5kV and above) electrical equipment such as switchgear, motor control centers, transformers
Experience designing medium voltage electrical equipment
Practical field experience with the installation of medium voltage electrical equipment
Field experiences commissioning and/or troubleshooting medium voltage electrical equipment
Practical field experience routing cable
Familiar with NEC and other electrical-related codes and standards
Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD
