Manager, Fuel Accounting
Pilot Company is an industry-leading network of travel centers, and they are seeking a Manager of Fuel Accounting to oversee the reconciliation of fuel balance sheet accounts. This role involves managing a team, ensuring timely reconciliations, and driving process improvements through automation.

Responsibilities
Manage and support the team responsible for the monthly reconciliation of fuel balance sheet general ledger accounts
Act as "reviewer" for these accounts, ensuring reconciliations are completed timely, to the standard of the Pilot Balance Sheet Reconciliation Policy and in the appropriate format
Utilize technological tools to measure, track and report on the resolution of account balances
Drive collaboration cross-functionally to allow the team to research and resolve aging balances and correct inaccurate entries
Lead efforts to streamline and improve the account reconciliation processes utilizing automation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
5 - 8+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on fuel, energy, transportation, or commodity accounting
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls required
Experience with ERP systems and fuel management systems
Knowledge of federal and state fuel tax reporting
Continuous improvement mindset and process optimization experience
Preferred
Master's degree or MBA preferred
