Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

Travel to client locations to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical systems and equipment
Execute routine inspections and preventive maintenance procedures to maximize equipment reliability
Diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions
Perform equipment repairs and replacements, ensuring minimal downtime for clients
Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their technical concerns and providing clear explanations of service procedures
Educate clients on equipment usage, maintenance, and best practices
Maintain accurate and detailed records of service activities, including service reports, equipment status, and parts used
Provide comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting procedures and resolutions
Collaborate with internal teams, including technical support, engineering, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and problem resolution
Provide feedback to improve product design and service processes
Respond to emergency service calls promptly and efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues
Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments
Ability to work and interact well with others
Provide training for junior team members
Serve as an escalation path for complex issues
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in related technical field is required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling automation, equipment repair, general maintenance, customer service, or another related field, if degreed
Minimum of 4 years of experience in material handling automation, equipment repair, general maintenance, customer service, or another related field, if non-degreed
Knowledge of electronics, networks, and industrial equipment
Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of electricity/electronics, LAN/WAN networks, Servers, +24VDC, and industrial equipment
Reading repair manuals and consulting with other professionals
Preferred
Forklift certified
Low voltage experience
Familiar with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs and logic
