CalPortland is seeking an Accounting/Finance Intern to work with their corporate accounting group. This role involves supporting various mid-level accounting and finance duties, including month-end close activities and project assistance.

Responsibilities

Prepare month-end general ledger, close journal entries, and supporting reconciliations
Research and correct account discrepancies
Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
Provide assistance and support for others on the corporate accounting team upon request
Prepare reports for management and operations upon request
Properly execute stipulated controls to ensure compliance with JSOX

Required

Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software programs
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Have strong organization and time management skills
Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of accounting principles
Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge
