Risk Supervisor

Responsibilities

Assist in the administration and management of workers’ compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims in coordination with the Director of Risk & Safety and third-party administrators
Conduct periodic field safety inspections across job sites to ensure compliance with Company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices
Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors; document findings and develop corrective action plans in partnership with field leadership
Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, witness interviews, and documentation of findings
Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely closure and risk mitigation
Analyze injury, incident, and loss data to identify trends and recommend preventative measures
Serve as a point of contact for field supervisors regarding safety concerns, incidents, and claims-related questions
Assist with return-to-work coordination and transitional duty program implementation
Support training initiatives related to safety, risk awareness, and claims reporting procedures
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, incident logs, and safety metrics dashboards
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site audits as required
Coordinate with HR, Operations, and Fleet on risk-related initiatives and compliance efforts
Other duties as assigned
Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with HR to resolve escalated employee matters

Required

3–5 years of experience in safety, risk management, or claims support within construction, telecommunications, utilities, or a related field
Working knowledge of workers' compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims processes
Experience conducting field safety inspections and job site audits
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety compliance standards
Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience with incident reporting, claims management, or safety management systems
Ability to learn and navigate internal HRIS, risk, and safety platforms
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build rapport with field employees and leadership
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
High level of professionalism and integrity
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
Ability to travel to and access active job sites, including uneven terrain, ladders, and construction environments
Standing, walking, and inspecting job sites for extended periods
Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6–8 hours per day
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours based on operational needs
Travel up to 25–40% of the time, including short notice travel

Preferred

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Safety, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or a related field from a four-year college or university
Supervisory or lead experience
OSHA 30, CHST, ASP, or similar certification
