Responsibilities
Lead and direct a team of Legal Claims Professionals in low to high exposure Claims in our Financial Institution Line of Business
Coordinate the work activities of the team
Have responsibility for performance, development, and coaching of staff
Act as a technical resource for the team
Manage internal and external customer relationships
Interact to exchange timely information with upstream claim managers, line of business underwriters, actuaries and finance
Develop, maintain and service broker and account relationships
Be flexible to work across other Financial Lines teams as needed
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor and 8 or more years of Claims Handling or Insurance Defense experience OR
Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of Claims Handling or Insurance Defense experience OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11 or more years of Claims Handling or Insurance Defense experience
3 or more years of management or leadership experience
Customer service experience
Experience with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
Travel 0%-25%
Preferred
Negotiation experience
Experience collaborating across work groups
In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
Experience handling Financial Lines Claims
Ability to effectively present information to LOB manager, claimants and customers
