Responsibilities
Lead assigned product development projects and complex engineering initiatives from concept through production
Perform HVAC system design evaluations and develop optimized system solutions
Incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations into all system designs
Provide strong technical leadership, accountability, and engineering judgment throughout project lifecycles
Develop, execute, and support test plans for unit performance, reliability, and rating compliance
Support product design activities including bill of materials (BOM) development, modeling, and final assembly integration
Lead and support the specification, selection, and qualification of materials and components
Collaborate with engineering peers, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability and cost effectiveness
Identify, develop, and implement cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives
Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for design and performance issues
Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in heat pump engineering or a related HVAC engineering role
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, with emphasis on heat pump technologies
Proficiency in CAD software for system design, layouts, and modeling
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Solid project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
HVAC-related certifications (e.g., ASHRAE, NATE)
In-depth understanding of energy efficiency standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and their integration with heat pump systems
Strong technical writing skills for reports, specifications, and documentation
