Fire Life Safety Inspector Technician

They are seeking a Fire Life Safety Inspector Technician who is independent and proactive, focusing on inspection and testing of fire sprinkler systems and backflow prevention devices while managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection and testing of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards
Conduct backflow prevention device inspections and testing (majority of the role)
Inspect and test fire extinguishers and other life safety systems as required
Identify code deficiencies, non-conformance issues, and clearly communicate findings
Complete accurate inspection reports, service tickets, and compliance documentation
Manage a designated group of clients and build strong, long-term customer relationships
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers — technicians are known by name
Maintain truck inventory and ensure readiness for scheduled inspections
Work independently with a set schedule and take ownership of daily execution
Adhere to all OSHA and safety standards at all times
Support branch growth by delivering consistent, high-quality service

Required

3+ years of experience inspecting and servicing fire life safety systems
Strong sprinkler system inspection experience (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-Action, Fire Pumps)
Backflow certification REQUIRED — or must be willing and able to obtain immediately
Familiarity with NFPA codes, including NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 25
Experience inspecting backflow prevention devices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and technical documentation
Proficient with inspection tools and test equipment
Physically capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and working at heights up to 40 feet
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a background check

Preferred

NICET certifications or other fire-related certifications
Fire Extinguisher License (State of AZ)
Experience with pipe installation and sprinkler system components
