Research Pre-Award Analyst
UC Irvine is a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence and research innovation. The Research Pre-Award Analyst will prepare and submit various grant proposals while supporting faculty in maintaining the growth of the Stem Cell Research Center.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and submission of federal, state and private contracts and grants as well as other extramural funds proposals including infrastructure and training grants that support multiple research and instructional programs within the Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC)
Prepare draft and final budgets, budget justifications, and various proposal documents
Perform data entry and document uploads into grant submission platforms including Kuali Coeus, Cayuse, ProposalCentral, CIRM GMS, and NIH ASSIST
Organize and lead regular monthly and ad hoc proposal preparation working meetings
Provide project management support for multi-investigator proposals
Help propel themed research groups to proposal submissions
Collect, collate, and archive a proposal/award library and boilerplate/template documents
Work with other units including GMP and Alpha Clinic teams to facilitate content incorporation into proposals for submission
Support for pre- and post-award management for clinical trial proposals and awards
Support for department purchasing needs
Expansion of the role to provide post-award (fiscal officer role) support
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to manage a high volume of transactions
Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports
Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles
Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
Writing skills to draft persuasive text for variety of audiences
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
2-4 years of relevant experience
Preferred
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines
Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc
