Credit & Collections Specialist
Stowers Machinery Corporation has been serving East Tennessee since 1960 and represents Caterpillar, a leading manufacturer of equipment. They are seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist to manage customer accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and collaborate with sales and customer service teams to support account resolution.

Responsibilities
Manage a large portfolio of customer accounts by staying organized, prioritizing tasks, and using strong time management skills to meet collection goals
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts
Resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and communications by documenting in the company’s system
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to support account resolution
Prepare reports for management on collection status and risk exposure
Assist with legal documents for the Corporate Credit Manager, as needed
Take ownership of assigned accounts and collection strategies
Lead initiatives to improve collection efficiency and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and Accounts Receivable write-offs
Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on credit risk trends
Qualification
Required
Manage a large portfolio of customer accounts by staying organized, prioritizing tasks, and using strong time management skills to meet collection goals
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts
Resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and communications by documenting in the company's system
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to support account resolution
Prepare reports for management on collection status and risk exposure
Assist with legal documents for the Corporate Credit Manager, as needed
Strong understanding of credit principles, collections processes, and financial documentation
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment industries is a plus
Knowledge of lien laws, collections regulations, and dispute resolution practices
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
