Responsibilities
Construction Accounting & Financial Oversight
Oversee all accounting functions related to construction projects, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, cost tracking, and budget-to-actual analysis
Ensure accurate capitalization, expense allocation, and compliance with construction accounting standards
Loan Banking & Servicing
Manage construction and investment-related loans, including draw schedules, lender reporting, covenant compliance, and reconciliation of loan activity
Coordinate with banks, lenders, and internal stakeholders on financing requirements
Multi-Entity & Multi-Unit Reporting
Prepare and consolidate financial statements across multiple entities and multi-unit properties
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Investment & Fund Allocation Support
Support investment positions by tracking returns, cash flow, and performance metrics
Assist leadership in allocating funds across construction projects, operating entities, and investment vehicles
Monitor liquidity and cash needs to support ongoing and future projects
Financial Controls & Compliance
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Support audits, tax preparation, and external financial reviews
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner with project managers, executives, and external advisors to provide financial insights and guidance
Lead and mentor accounting staff as applicable
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a heavy focus on construction accounting
Proven experience with loan banking servicing, construction financing, and lender reporting
Experience managing multi-entity and multi-unit financial structures
Strong understanding of investment accounting and fund allocation strategies
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
Real estate development or construction-focused investment environments
A heavy focus on construction accounting
Experience with ERP or construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar)
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, project-driven organization
