Project Executive I - Civil Utilities | Mortenson
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Executive I specializing in utility work, who is responsible for providing overall management for large projects, leading the project team, and ensuring key and successful customer relations. This role involves establishing customer relationships, managing project budgets, and leading utility coordination efforts to ensure timely project delivery.

Responsibilities
Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
Lead utility coordination efforts including water, sewer, electrical, gas, and telecom services to ensure timely installation and integration with project schedules
Collaborate with municipalities, utility providers, and internal teams to oversee securing of permits, easements, and approvals for utility work
Develop and manage utility risk assessments and contingency plans to mitigate delays and cost impacts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field
Minimum 10 years' experience in construction management overseeing large projects
Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Current driver's license

Ability to travel up 50-75%
Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.)
