They are seeking an Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist I to lead project and field work, including Environmental Site Assessments and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans in the NYC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

Complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater, and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schools/universities, transit-related), residential, industrial. commercial, and private
Complete Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from preparation of workplans, conducting field work, writing summary reports, and final remedial documents
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation
The candidate will assist with training entry level staff
Field work will include oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborers during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, test pit installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities; and sampling various media including soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor, and air
Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same
Prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data; interpreting and tabulating data and preparing tables; soil boring logs; figures; and text
Provide environmental construction field management, such as community air monitoring, soil management, remedial construction oversight, and more

Required

At least 2 years of experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong writing skills
Ability to lead project and field work
Experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations
Experience in preparation of Remedial Action Workplans
Ability to complete site investigations
Experience in preparing technical reports, specifications, and plans
Experience in data management and evaluation
Experience in environmental assessment and remediation
Ability to assist with training entry level staff
Experience in oversight of subcontractors during field work
Ability to perform peer reviews of Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments
Ability to prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data
Ability to provide environmental construction field management

Preferred

OSHA 30-Hour construction training preferred
