Electrical Engineering/Radiofrequency - Postdoctoral Researcher
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is dedicated to strengthening the United States’ security through innovative research. The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on radiofrequency devices and systems, conducting research and development, designing and testing components, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities
Conduct research in and development of radiofrequency and pulsed power systems
Design, build, and test radiofrequency devices and components such as transistors, amplifiers, circulators, antennas, non-linear transmission lines, and oscillators
Work closely with an interdisciplinary team consisting of engineers, technicians, and integration experts from LLNL in all aspects of device and system development, to complete project goals
Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings
Pursue independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally
Perform all assignments safely in accordance with ES&H, security, and business practice requirements and policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
Significant experience with design of radiofrequency devices including software such as CST, HFSS, Comsol, ADS, or Ansys
Experience with one or more of the following areas: device characterization, antenna measurements, radiofrequency characterization, microfabrication
Ability to write and operate software (e.g. MATLAB, PYTHON, LABVIEW) for data collection and analysis
Ability to perform as an innovative experimentalist with a broad range of experience in experimental design, measurement, and data acquisition techniques, including developing innovative solutions to scientific and technical problems
Ability to develop independent research projects through publication of peer-reviewed literature
Initiative and interpersonal skills and ability to succeed in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
Proficient verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment and present and explain technical information
