Responsibilities
Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with Department policy and procedures and planning of long and short-term goals
Performs miscellaneous repairs and park improvements to include carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and groundskeeping
Collects and accounts for revenue and produce required reports
Repairs and maintains motorized equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Keeps maintenance records
Performs and directs clean-up and housekeeping activities to ensure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of park grounds and facilities
Practice and promote teamwork within Barnwell State Park, throughout the agency, and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year general maintenance experience
Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking, and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights
Exposure to weather conditions, various cleaning agents, and other material used in maintaining park facilities and grounds
Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays, including overtime as needed
Comfortable using Windows, MS Office, and working with data entry on computers
Will be required to clean and maintain cabins, campgrounds, and day use facilities
Ability to read and understand written procedures and directions
Ability to perform simple accounting and administrative duties as required
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Ability to operate a variety of power tools
Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License
Preferred
Managerial or supervisory experience preferred
