Senior LevelMSH is focused on enhancing developer productivity through modularity and innovative tooling. The Senior Rails Platform Engineer will work on service extraction from a large Rails monolith, build developer tooling, and integrate AI-powered solutions to improve workflows.
Management Consulting
Responsibilities
Breaking apart a large Rails monolith
Using Packwerk, Kafka messaging, and incremental migration patterns
Building Ruby gems, CLI tools, and automation
Creating leverage that multiplies team velocity
Integrating Claude Code
Building custom AI skills/agents
Automating developer workflows
Qualification
Required
Strong Ruby expertise (gem development experience preferred)
Deep Rails experience, especially with large monoliths
Solid understanding of modular architecture (service extraction, domain boundaries)
Comfortable with RSpec testing and Sorbet type checking
Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging systems
Preferred
Experience with Packwerk or similar modularization tools
Background in developer productivity or platform engineering
Familiarity with LLM/AI tooling (Claude, Cursor, prompt engineering)
Payment systems knowledge (ACH/NACHA a bonus)
