Responsibilities

Maintains a clean, orderly, and inspection‑ready laboratory environment and ensuring all equipment is kept in a properly functioning and well‑maintained state
Performs detailed laboratory assays and analyses on human blood samples, including process control and quality control testing, as directed by the Senior Scientist or Laboratory Supervisor
Accurately completes, reviews, and maintains documentation and reports required for routine laboratory tasks
Supports and maintains a Quality Assurance program that meets the expectations of the Laboratory Director and complies with applicable regulatory bodies
Clearly and accurately communicates with laboratory supervisors to support routine operational needs, including reagent and material inventory status as well as broader operational adjustments and continuous improvement of laboratory processes
May assist with facility operations and support tasks as requested by laboratory leadership
May assist in the repair, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and supporting equipment
Performs additional duties related to the position as assigned to support ongoing laboratory operations and BioChip Labs’ diagnostic development efforts

Required

Graduate from an accredited four‑year institution with a bachelor's degree or higher in biology, chemistry, or a related life science discipline
Shows the capacity to be trained in and successfully perform hematological testing in accordance with state and federal regulatory standards or demonstrates previous experience performing such testing in a regulated laboratory environment
Maintains accurate records and prepares clear, concise documentation of test results and related laboratory activities
Understands and follows moderately complex written and verbal instructions; reads and writes legibly; and performs accurate calculations related to concentrations, formulations, and assay preparation
Consistently applies a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions to ensure a safe and compliant laboratory environment

Preferred

At least one year of experience working in a CLIA‑regulated laboratory environment is preferred
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles and Quality Systems operations
Prior experience with hematology laboratory workflows or instrumentation is preferred
Possession of a valid Ohio driver's license
