Financial Examiner Interns / Admin Specialist I (Temporary)
The N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking Summer Interns for the NC Commissioner of Banks office. Interns will gain experience in the financial services marketplace by conducting reviews and assessments of financial institutions, while working closely with experienced employees to analyze data and learn about industry regulations.

Responsibilities
Introduction to bank earnings
Conduct review and assessment of Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income
Review Bank Capital
Prepare workpapers on policies and procedures
CALL Report spreading
Gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial institution data and industry information
Interns will work directly with teams of experienced NCCOB employees to gather, organize, and analyze financial institution data and industry information
They will gain knowledge of financial industry laws and regulations, industry standards, and best practices
They should exercise sound judgment, which is developed through training and experience and work in a team environment and should be able to adapt to changing circumstances
These positions involve the regulation of commercial banks, savings banks, holding companies, subsidiaries, and other affiliates
Qualification
Required
Rising college senior attending an institution of higher education
Majors desired: Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, Business Admin
Minimum of (2) accounting courses
At least 18 years old
Permanent resident of North Carolina
3.0 or higher GPA
No sponsorships
Clear credit and criminal background check
Demonstrate the ability to learn laws, rules, regulations, industry standards, and accounting/reporting processes applicable to banking
Ability to apply this knowledge in analyzing the financial records of banks by identifying areas of risk, material deficiencies, and violations of state and federal laws and regulations
Demonstrate ability to present, both orally and in written form
Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons contacted in course of work
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and a working knowledge of PowerPoint
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
