Senior LevelMetric Geo is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of coil-based heat transfer products. This role focuses on actual coil and heat exchanger design, ensuring that designs meet industry codes and certifications while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities
Design and develop coil and heat transfer products from concept through production
Own thermal-fluid, structural, and manufacturability decisions for new and existing designs
Lead NPD and VA/VE initiatives to improve performance, cost, and standardization
Ensure designs meet industry codes and certifications (ASME, UL, AHRI, IIAR, Title 24)
Produce and approve complete engineering documentation and 3D models
Lead design reviews and act as the technical authority for assigned product lines
Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Product teams
Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement efforts
Qualification
Required
Strong background in coil/heat exchanger design within HVAC/R or industrial cooling
Deep knowledge of heat transfer and thermal-fluid systems
Hands-on experience designing pressure-containing equipment
Working knowledge of HVAC&R industry codes and standards
Proficiency with 3D CAD and ability to interpret CFD/FEA results
Ability to lead technically and influence without direct authority
Preferred
Exposure to electrical systems or controls at a system level
Experience with CFD, FEA, or advanced thermal modeling tools
PE or EIT credentials
