Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in North America. The Plant Project Engineer I will provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant, spending approximately 60% of the time on project-related activities and 40% on plant support activities.

Responsibilities

Project management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget

Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements

Lead and assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance

Report to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line to the Plant Manager

Maintain appropriate communication/relationships with all employees, vendors, visitors

Provide the necessary safety training to contractors and others as necessary

Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies

Attend daily production/quality meetings

Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements

Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis

Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance

Required

BS degree in engineering or technical related area from an accredited college/university

Proven Engineering experience (3-5 years or more) record of technical / maintenance troubleshooting and project work

Working knowledge in personal computers (Microsoft software necessary, Project management)

Basic understanding with Allen Bradley PLC

Ability to walk distances across facility, climb steps and ladders on occasions, sitting at office desk work, sometimes in cooler atmosphere (35-45 degrees), sometimes in engine room (+ 95 degrees in hot months)

Ability to hear, see, speak, smell and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential task

Basic problem solving skills will be necessary

Must be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands

Requires strong organizational skills, dependability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion
