Water Conservation & Watershed Health Summer Internship

Eagle River Coalition is dedicated to the health of the Upper Colorado and Eagle River basins through research, education, and projects. The summer intern will support the Community Engagement Manager in outreach and events, as well as assist with the Beyond Lawn Program, focusing on water efficiency initiatives and community involvement.

Responsibilities

Support the Community Engagement Manager with summer Watershed Immersion events
Organize and oversee outreach tabling events for ERC
Support with outreach resource development
Support Director of Watershed Restoration with river use study, including supporting with survey efforts
Support with monthly monitoring of Brush Creek through River Watch and Post Assisted Log Structure (PALS) monitoring program
Work alongside ERC staff to restore impacted riparian zones, with the use of volunteers, through revegetation, invasive species/ debris removal and trail work
Participate in other ERC meetings, events and functions as appropriate
Other duties as assigned
Support Beyond Lawn Program staff with Landscape & Irrigation Evaluations, which include site visits and creating reports
Attend tabling and outreach events to represent the Beyond Lawn Program
Support with coordinating and implementing summer workshops of Beyond Lawn, including but not limited to Rain Barrel, DIY Landscape and Irrigation Workshops
Support with materials development for the Beyond Lawn Program
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Water conservation techniquesCommunication skillsProficiency with WordProficiency with ExcelProficiency with Google SuitesProficiency with CanvaSocial media skillsLandscaping experienceSpanish language skills

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Passion for healthy rivers, streams, and waterways
Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Google Suites
Strong communication skills
A willingness to learn, ask questions and expand skills as necessary
A track record of working well with a team as well as independently
Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle

Preferred

Understanding of water conservation techniques in Colorado
Proficiency with Canva and social media
Ability to speak and understand Spanish at a conversational level
Landscaping/Irrigation experience is a plus
