Responsibilities
Design HVAC and/or mechanical piping systems for data centers and specialty facilities, ensuring performance, reliability, and code compliance
Develop construction-ready drawings, specifications, and system layouts for fabrication and field installation
Support the full system lifecycle — from design and drafting through installation and commissioning assistance
Provide technical clarification and guidance to shop teams and field trades during fabrication and installation
Coordinate with internal teams and project stakeholders to ensure constructability and design intent are maintained
Ensure designs align with project schedules, budgets, and client expectations
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience, ideally across multiple employers or project environments
Experience designing air handling (HVAC) systems and/or mechanical piping systems for commercial or specialty facilities
Strong understanding of construction drawings, fabrication processes, and field installation practices
Ability to work independently as a design engineer while collaborating closely with shop and trade teams
Comfort providing technical explanations and resolving installation questions in real-world environments
On-site availability — this is a 100% on-site role
