Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III
Chenega Security SBU is seeking an Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician III to apply technical knowledge in maintaining legacy security management systems. The role involves troubleshooting and solving issues related to various subsystems within the Electronic Security System and requires a strong understanding of electronic principles and diagnostic techniques.

Responsibilities
Have a working knowledge and understanding of PACS hardware, intrusion detection, CCTV equipment and public address systems
Have a working knowledge and understanding of electric principles
Ability to use diagnostic equipment/software and established troubleshooting techniques to isolate network deficiencies, equipment failures and operational anomalies
Ability to read, interpret electrical schematics and architectural drawings
Reading and adhering to blueprints and design plans for the installation of sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and head end equipment on small or less complex jobs
Reading and understanding component level schematic diagrams for systems, equipment and devices
Identifying appropriate cables from drawings and running cables/fiber per installation design plans
Repairing and maintaining electronic security system equipment
Testing continuity of conductor(s) or breaks in fiber
Terminating basic connections such as butt splices, insulated connectors, terminal strips/blocks and BNC connectors
Mounting and terminating field devices (e.g., Readers, Door Contacts, REXs, Cameras)
Installing and terminating sub-level devices (e.g., patch panels, junction boxes) on large or complex jobs and head end equipment on small or less complex jobs to include power and proper grounding
Terminating and testing voice and data connections
Performing field verification testing
Understanding the infrastructure relationships between trades
Coordinate with other trades and/or clients on your own
Adhering to all Company and Client policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
At least eight years' experience in non-residential electronics installation & troubleshooting is required with a high school degree
At least six years' experience coupled with Graduation from the US Navy or Air Force Electronics Training Program with a minimum of 720 classroom hours or Graduation from an Accredited Electronic Apprentice Program with a high school degree
At least four years' experience with an AA/AS in Electronics from an accredited program
At least two years' experience with a BS/BA in Electronics from an accredited program
LENEL OnGuard 7.3 access control certification required
At least two active certifications from the following OEM list: Morpho Detection Itemizer; Smiths Detection X-Ray Hiscan; CEIA Walk-Through Metal Detectors; Delta & Koei Vehicle Barrier; Panasonic Analog CCTV Systems; IP CCTV Systems; Pathminder Turnstiles; or equivalent OEM certifications
Required to adhere to all government agency guidelines as it applies to COVID vaccine Attestation/Restrictions
OSHA 10 Training required
New employees who are hired will be required to have a favorable BPRP certification review outcome and must meet and maintain the qualifying reliability standards in this section
Emotional and mental stability, trustworthiness, physical competence, and adequate training to perform the assigned duties
Dependability in executing BPRP responsibilities (for example, candor in self-reporting BPRP-relevant information)
Flexibility and adaptability in adjusting to the restrictive and demanding work environment with Tier 1 BSAT that must be strictly controlled and secured
Ability to pass drug or substance abuse testing before being certified into the BPRP
Ability to obtain a current and favorably adjudicated personnel security investigation (PSI)
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Must be proficient with Test Equipment (i.e. TDR, OTDR)
Must have skill level III Hand Tools (a complete list of required tools will be provided)
